Digital Involvement: More Than Just Guests

"Towards the Digital Champions League"
A Daily Dose of OMNIS

ENGEL Group in Schwertberg threw two farewell parties for their CEO - and Netural invites customers and staff on a digital center stage.

Draw the audience in to become part of the show? – Here we go!
Digital technology has a proven ability to pick people from a crowd and put them on the stage. Which is exactly what we achieved during two farewell celebrations for Dr. Peter Neumann, who retired after many successful years as CEO of injection molding machine manufacturer ENGEL. One event took place in Düsseldorf, catering to customers and supply partners, the other at Design Center Linz drew about 2000 employees. Both events came across as glamourous galas titled „Everything will Stay Different“, focusing on Mr. Neumann, his achievements and the future successes of ENGEL.

A photo of every single guest was shot upon entering, and these photos appeared on a huge screen. Touch-Terminals were available for creating personal messages. International branch offices sent their congratulation messages as creative video snippets. Mixing in historical and recent videos, photos and presentations to the live mix, Netural´s visual emcee Martin Zeplichal created an impressive visual framework for the event.

The resulting spirit is best described as „being so much more than just a guest“: Hundreds of photos and messages flashed from the stage, involving everybody in the creation of very personal and deeply emotional thanksgiving and farewell celebrations.

These two events marked the second innovative cooperation between Netural and Linz-based event agency ATTENTION, the first project involving a visual performance for food retail chain SPAR in early summer. Multiscreen performances like those at the ENGEL events are based on VVVV, a software for smooth control and coordination of multiple media sources, screens, physical elements and event hardware.
